Front Desk Administrative Assistant

Job Description:

An educational consulting company with a national and international presence is seeking an organized, personable and efficient front desk administrative assistant.

Qualifications:

  • 3 yrs administrative support
  • Friendly, courteous, and engaging communication skills
  • Detailed oriented, organized and able to multi-task
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Google drive, docs and calendar experience
  • Ability to speak in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) or Korean is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain calendar, scheduling and appointment reminders
  • Follow up with clients and students
  • Time management of counselor
  • Manage and track student progress on spreadsheets
  • Answering phones and greeting clients
  • Payment processing and checking out clients
  • Responding to client inquiries by email and telephone
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion on all privileged, sensitive information

Critical Reading and Writing Instructor

Hamilton College Consulting in San Diego, California is looking for talented teachers and mentors for bright, motivated, college-bound high school students. We are looking for a candidate with a Ph.D. in English Literature who has an outstanding record as a classroom instructor.

We teach classes that build reading, writing, and analytical skills, preparing students for AP-level coursework and success in high school and college. Our test-preparation courses teach real skills, rather than test-taking tricks and strategies. We offer a long-term, skills-based approach to college preparation that translates into effective life-long study habits. We help students and parents understand the landscape of American universities and find a path to colleges that help students grow as individuals.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in standardized test prep
  • College graduate from a top-tier university (graduate degree strongly preferred)
  • Well-organized and proficient in online file organization/storage services (i.e. Google Drive, Trello, Google Sheets, and Gmail
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Really love working with high school students
  • Management experience

  • Teaching reading and writing courses
  • Designing and building curriculum
  • Ability to confidently and effectively liaise between Mr Hamilton and a team of instructors, developers, and admin staff.

Math Instructor

We are looking for a talented, experienced, and charismatic math teacher to run our ambitious math program. At Hamilton College Consulting, we work with high school students hoping to attend selective universities. We teach classes that build reading, writing, and analytical skills, preparing students for AP-level coursework and success in high school and college. Our test-preparation courses teach real skills, rather than test-taking tricks and strategies. We help students and parents understand the landscape of American universities and find a path to colleges that help students grow as individuals.

Our students create non-profits, win the Google Science Fair, and read Haruki Murakami in their spare-time. They are routinely accepted to top-tier universities and contribute to the success of campuses and community life.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience teaching math to middle school, high school, and/or college students
  • A stellar, inspirational teaching persona who can teach students who love math and students who are math-phobic.
  • An interest and background in math pedagogy
  • Familiarity with SAT and ACT math
  • A bachelor’s or graduate degree in mathematics or a related field

Responsibilities/Goals:

  • Help in building and refining an effective math curriculum for SAT and ACT instruction.
  • Help in designing, creating, and executing an effective math enrichment program for 5th through 12th
  • Help in designing, creating, and executing engaging math programs for students involved in math competitions and mathematics research projects, including Matlab and/or Mathematica.

Familiarity with (or a willingness to learn) Latex and other useful programs for creating math curriculum.
