Kristin earned her BA in English at Stanford University, and completed her PhD, also in English, at UCLA. After moving back east to complete a dissertation fellowship at Amherst College, Kristin taught English and U.S. Latino Studies at Williams College, and was later a faculty member and Visiting Scholar at Vassar College, where she taught English, Women’s and Gender Studies, Media Studies, and American Studies. Kristin has also taught and tutored high school students in SAT and PSAT prep, introductory literature, and AP English Language and Composition, and since returning to her native San Diego, has devoted her time and energy to preparing students for the work of writing at the college level. When she’s not writing, or working to convince other people of their potential as writers, Kristin enjoys hiking the many trails of San Diego County. Someday she hopes to go all in for the Pacific Crest Trail, once she can get used to the idea of going without email or text messaging for more than six hours at a time.
