Leigh Francisco

English-Language Arts Instructor

Leigh is a highly regarded teacher from Scripps Ranch High School where she has been teaching for seven years. She currently serves as the English Department co-chair. Mrs. Francisco has been awarded the Crystal Apple for excellence in teaching and was voted the Scripps Ranch site teacher of the year for the 2013-2014 school year. She has a passion for technology and served two years as the digital lead teacher, currently serving as the school’s student information system (PowerSchool) lead. At Scripps Ranch, she is the faculty advisor for the Women in Literature Club and the Film and Photography Club, while also hosting the school’s Improv team for weekly rehearsals. Mrs. Francisco considers teaching a calling and is passionate about helping students achieve to the best of their ability, while inspiring students to appreciate language and literature. Her favorite courses to teach are AP English Language and Composition (aka Rhetoric) and 10th grade World Literature. Mrs. Francisco has a M.Ed. Originally from the east coast, Mrs. Francisco enjoys traveling to visit friends and family, and spending time with her two girls and her husband in Poway. Two favorite pastimes are attending author readings and interviews and watching films, old and new.
